With the mote “The only one that has everything to create tomorrow”, the 45th Fimec (International Fair of Leather, Chemicals, Components, Machinery and Equipment for Footwear and Tanneries) will take place on March 9, 10 and 11, 2021, from 1pm to 8pm, at the Fenac pavilions, in Novo Hamburgo/RS (Brazil). The fair will present an increasingly sustainable leather-footwear industry, attentive to market behavior and based on the circular economy.
From production to logistics, Fimec will present news in leathers and hides, chemicals, components, machines, technology and innovation for the entire footwear sector - being recognized as the only fair in the world that brings together the entire operation of the leather-footwear sector in one same location. In addition to news from exhibitors, Fimec 2021 will feature the traditional attractions of the fair. Between them is the 4th Fimec Forum, which will take place on the second day of the event, March 10, bringing innovative content to the leather-footwear sector. The activity will provide debates on relevant topics, in addition to exchanging experiences with professionals of national and international reference, networking and updating to generate business opportunities.
Another traditional attraction that has already been confirmed is Concept Factory 2021, a space that will show the production of footwear in real time, with purpose of presenting the visitor with the applicability of the processes and products exhibited at Fimec. In the next edition, the focus of the Factory will follow the motto of the fair: sustainability. Concept Factory will have three production lines, seeking to show the quality, design and sustainable condition of Brazilian footwear for the international market in this new scenario. The project is carried out by Fenac Experiences Connect, IBTEC - Brazilian Institute of Leather, Footwear and Artifacts and Coelho Advisory Business.
The Fimec Studio, a space dedicated to thinking about the future of fashion based on consumer behavior, product development and consumption, will also be present in 2021. For this edition, the space will address the concept of conscious consumption, exploring the sustainability of materials from natural products, extracted sustainably and ecologically dyed. Topics such as treatment and reuse of waste for the production of footwear components and digital technology for the development of footwear shapes will also be explored, without the production of waste in development. The initiative is a realization of Fenac with Coelho Advisory Business and Studio 10.
