Export on the rise

In the month of July alone, 12 million of pairs were shipped

Between January and July, footwear exports totaled the shipment of 86.87 million of pairs, which generated US$ 763.4 million, an increase both in volume (+31.8%) and in revenue (64.8%) compared to the same period last year. In the month of July alone, when 12 million of pairs were shipped for US$ 111.84 million, the increase is 35.3% in pairs and 50.8% in revenue compared to the same month in 2021.

In seventh month, the United States continued as the main destination for Brazilian footwear abroad. Americans imported 1 million of pairs for $26.5 million, down 25% in volume and increase 24.9% in revenue compared to July 2021.

Rio Grande do Sul is responsible for almost half of the value of Brazilian footwear exports and remained the main exporting state. In July, the Gauchos shipped 3.94 million of pairs, for which US$ 58.23 million were paid, increase 60% and 64%, respectively, compared to the same month last year.

The data are from the Brazilian Footwear Industry Association (Abicalçados). According to the entity, Latin American markets have been decisive for the growth of exports and Brazil has benefit, in the scenario of increasing international sea freight, from the logistical proximity with the group of countries, which has been importing more from Brazil and less from Asia.
